Never Underestimate an Opponent
One thing the narrow escape to the Bears will do for the Packers is keep them from getting a big head going into the Cincinnati game. The last thing GreenBay needs at the start of the season is to come off a tough divisional win, expecting to man-handle a team that was 4-11-1 last season and has started this season with a loss.
Underestimating an opponent can cause some serious problems. Think back to the 1997 Packers. On their way to their second Super Bowl appearance in a row, the Packer became one of only three wins on the Indianapolis Colts’ record that year.
The Bengals have started slow in 2009, and they appear to be an easy win for the Packers. On the other hand, this team had a winning record in the last half of the season, including a win against a fairly good Washington Redskins team.
Will the Packers win on Sunday? Probably, and their chances are better now that they see they are vulnerable to making big mistakes and playing some sloppy football.
